We have had a stunning day of exploration today, making two landings on the Antarctic continent, and finishing up only an hour ago with some 30 Orcas sighted near the ship in amongst low sun-illuminated ice bergs with backdrop of high glacier covered mountains dramatically draped in scattered cloud.

There were two Humpback whales in the mix too, and we wondered if a more sinister ending would follow, but we suspect the killers continued on without incident.

Tomorrow we head to the largest Gentoo penguin colony on the entire Antarctic Peninsula.
