Here’s Brian enjoying the morning company of his backyard ‘pet’ wild duck! This was her 2nd season using Brian’s ‘anti-skunk’ nesting device that he built for her after last years skunk raid. When she was nesting, she would leave the nest every day for a few moments to preen, feed and get a bit of ‘self’ time away from her clutch. Her 6 eggs hatched successfully. Brian was canoeing the South Saskatchewan when she and her ducklings departed, so he missed the happy moment. But by all reports, mom and the kids are out there, somewhere, doing what ducks do.
